Centro Medico Imbanaco is a private hospital completely equipped with high technology dedicated to the treatment of patients with high complexity health issues. It is located in the southern section of Cali, Colombia and has a human team of specialized and sub-specialized physicians in all the areas of medicine. The hospital counts with modern operating rooms, fully set to practice advanced laparoscopic surgery, bariatric surgery and surgical procedures of other specialties. The hospital also has several intensive care units, its own blood bank, clinical laboratory, a 24 hour emergency room service, radiology unit, cancer unit, and solid organ transplant service, amongst other. The buildings are modern with ample rooms and various inside and outside gardens.  

Is the obesity clinic prepared to treat patients with extreme obesity?

A specific infrastructure is required when treating very obese patients (with morbid obesity and superobesity) in order to permit a safe operation and a comfortable hospital stay. We have specially designed equipment for obese patients like special bracelets for blood pressure monitoring, a high capacity and precision weight scale (300 kg – 660 lbs), a specially designed surgery table (capacity for 450 kg – 990 lbs), outstanding transportation devices for carrying patients from one bed to another, special surgical equipment and instruments for bariatric surgery, special chairs and wheel chairs, etc. All this not only allows the patient an easy stay, but permits the surgeon the practice of adequate procedures safely.
